Christina Hammer to defend her WBF
title against Lauren
Source/WBF PR -July 5, 2013
(JULY 5) In her last outing, this
past May, Christina Hammer, 14-0 (7), became a two-weight World
Boxing Federation World Champion when she moved up to Super
Middleweight to dethrone then undefeated titlist Zita Zatyko in
Mannheim. Having vacated that title she is now back to defend
her WBF World Middleweight crown on July 13.
At the Energie Verbund-Arena in Dresden, Germany, 22-year-old
Hammer will take on Mikaela Lauren from Sweden, a very
experienced opponent who brings an impressive 19-2 (7)
professional record and several championships on her resume.
Turning pro in 2009, Lauren has only suffered defeat at the
hands of Cecilia Braekhus, in a World title fight, and Spain’s
long-time contender Loli Munoz. Riding a five-fight
winning-streak, the skilled Scandinavian could easily prove to
be Hammer´s toughest challenge to date.
